Rectangular expansion joints absorb all of the movements in any one length of piping, but they are mainly used to absorb axial movements. Rectangular expansion joints do not restrain pressure thrust so adequate anchors and guides must be provided.Rectangular expansion joints are with U& V shaped convolutions and available with different corner configuration i.e., rounded, double miter and miter. The “V” convolution profile will be supplied with single miter corners, unless otherwise specified. Round corner bellows will always be constructed using the “U” convolution profile.These expansion joints can be manufactured with one or more convolutions and with limitless dimensions.Varmaflex can manufacture rectangular expansion joints based on specific requirements or customer designed.Features:• Variety of bellows geometry• Normal guiding is required• Normal anchor is required• Normally customer designedTypes of Movement:• Axial movement• Limited lateral movement• Limited angular movement

Gimbal Expansion Joints which can permit angular rotation in any plane, consist of two pair of hinges affixed to a common floating gimbal ring. The Gimbal Expansion Joints are similar to Hinge type except that unlike Hinged Bellows which are limited to deflection in only one plane, Gimbal Expansion Joints can accept bending or angulations in any plane.A single bellows and gimbal hardware designed to resist pressure thrust. The gimbal expansion joint hardware operates like the universal joint on a drive shaft to accommodate angular movements in any plane.Universal Gimbaled Expansion Joints are similar to the hinged universals except that the two expansion joints are gimbal type. The advantage of this arrangement is the ability of the expansion joint to accept large lateral movements and independent angular movements in any plane.It contains two hinge pins, the axis of each being perpendicular to the other. Each set of pins is connected to each other with a central gimbal ring. It provides similar restraint and resistance to axial forces such as the pressure thrust and to shear forces as the hinge type apart from having other features like absorbing angular rotation, preventing torsion on bellows and no main anchors required.
